"The A.W.A.K.E. woman is preppy, quirky, elegant, simple, dreamy, and strong; but also fragile and sexy—but in a weird Japanese way (laughing). She is intelligent, modest, perceptive, sensitive, and chilled, but secretly passionate, sincere and honest, chic and sharp, and busy. Clothes are not important to her—beauty and effortlessness are." - Natalia Alaverdian
"One of the reasons why I try to use fabrics and cuts that don't go out of fashion is because I like the idea of women buying the clothes and then...I don't know what the word is...cherish sounds over-emotional for a relationship with a piece of clothing...but for a woman to feel proud, satisfied, comfortable and powerful in them, to wear them and get on with their lives." - Phoebe Philo
I am blown away by Celine's Fall 2013 Collection!
At this show guests were given a trend book when they entered the space. Inside were images of fluff, clouds, yarn, paintings from the 15th century, and pictures of statues derrières. These were Pheobe Philo's clues for her Fall collection.
Not only is Philo very talented, but her eye for details are amazing. Every piece is thought out, clean and crisp. Her fabric choices, wool, cotton, mink and check tweeds, left me watching this show in awe. Overall it was Elegant, but Minimal. Modern, but Retro. Over sized, but sexy. Everything a successful Collection should Have!
"I continue to try to think up of combinations which do not exist in reality yet. I combine opposing elements to create styles that work well." - Fumito Ganryu
Tokyo brand, Comme des Garcons started a youthful high fashion label titled Ganryu.
The designer is Fumito Ganryu who was formerly a pattern maker for Junya Watanabe. He showed us what a high fashion lumberjack would look like. His 2013 Fall/Winter collection was named "Unidentified" for its Avant Garde silhouettes and mix of streetwear and high fashion. My favorite part of the collection are the different levels of drop crotchpants, creepers, sneakers and well tailored coats.
This show definitely represents my personal style. I would wear all of this! It mixes preppy, and urban wear which i totally believe in.
"Masaya Kushino", is known for his very innovative, bold, and dramatic style.
I picked Christian Dada's fall 2013 collection, in honor of Halloween for its dark/goth elements.
Designer Masanori Morikawa partnered up with Lady Gagas favorite shoe designer Masaya Kushino for this collection.
Masanori took his theme from the mythical bird Fenghuang, from which the idea of the Phoenix was born. Masaya Kushino took the bird theme literally, and added feathers to his footwear. The mixture of fur, leather and the lightness of the feathers made me fall head over heels with his shoes.
The styling is amazing, i love the way he added an element of embroidery to his pieces to soften them up. I think the real appeal of Christian Dada comes from the fact that he makes High Fashion pieces, with a street wear feel.
Love, Love, Love!
